Who was pizza???? Slice question.

So me and a friend picked up a pizza from Walmart the other day (don't hate, those are some good pizzas). We were sitting in his kitchen just enjoying our food when he noticed this on the back of the box:
We could not for the life of us let this go. 9 slices per serving? Who in the world would take the effort to cut their pizza into 9 slices? You would literally have to take a protractor and measure 40 degree slices.

I made a little sketch on his white board to see the minimum amount of effort it would take to make 9 even slices. Wow, look how easy it was and how accurate I was!

Here, I've added a diagram of how any regular person cuts their pizza:

So tell me, how do you cut your pizza? Tell me it's not 9 slices...

  7. Yeah that is kinda stupid, i guess they thought 1/8 of a pizza was to big for a single serving.

  9. @Sean I legit lol'd
    Also
@John, I could almost believe that if they only did it once, but they clearly put "1/9 pizza" AND "Servings per pizza: 9"

  10. ive gotten 9 slices many times before. not everyone cuts slices that way. ive made checkerboard-type slices before and gotten 9. they probably took the serving size and divided it by the total amt in the box to get 9 and avoided the practicality of actually getting 9.

  11. normal is 8 slices, sometimes they do a double, giving out 16 strips. The 9 slice thing is just a ploy to lie to you about how unhealthy it is. I expect this kind of BS from Wal-Mart. Fun fact, Wal-Mart is the 3rd leading trade partner with China, when you count entire countries as the competition.

  12. I cut mine into isosceles triangles! When I can find a place that actually makes pizza, of course...

    *sheds single, dignified tear*

  13. Maybe they mean to cut out a circle in a middle and then cut the rest into 8 slices

  25. i prefer to use a paring knife to cut my pizza into 27 even slices. and if the cheese slides off when i cut it, i have to make a new pizza and start over. its a delicate process
